Lurker Comment: Should “awesome” have been “awful?”
... and I share the disgust you all have at the thuggery of the “hardcore” cult(ure). Of course, they need Jesus and they need a certain type of Christian men who can reach out to them- and I know I’m not one of those men.GProblem is, Anthony Bradley defeated his whole point in the article with one word, which could easily have been replaced with a similar much more accurate word.
If he had said “awful sub-culture” instead of “awesome sub-culture”, I don’t think we’d all be having the visceral revulsion to his article that we seem to be sharing.
Maybe you could ask the BHT if the substitution of that one word would have altered everyone’s perception of the article’s tone. Thanks
